Still at sea. I must admit this sea air is... calming... This new
place is rather unique. The ship can not come to close to the island
because the water is not nearly deep enough. Therefore the ship is
anchored just off shore and a ferry boat is taken from the ship to the
island. For those of you wondering... Yes the writer burns and yes
the anchor dropping is annoyingly loud. The writer chose horseback
riding as her off shore trip. A rather interesting choice considering
she OWNS TWO OF THEM... Why would you go on vacation to ride a horse
when you have a horse at home? But oh no... She wanted to ride in
the ocean. Which admittedly is a once in a lifetime opportunity for
someone who lives somewhere that's predominately land locked without
going for a three and a half hour drive.
My own activities are coming along well. I attempted to get a little
bit of sun today up on deck. Did anyone else know a jet black sports
car couldn't tan? I didn't... My hood smarts a little from sun burn
but I am still the exact same color. Who knew that changing colors by
laying in the sun was only a human trait? Still though it was
relaxing. It's surprising just how relaxing laying under the warm sun
is.
Last night was form night which of course meant the writer actually
donned a skirt... Now THATs a once in a lifetime experience... I
have to admit I was never made aware that the writer actually did in
fact have legs... It was an experience that will not soon be forgotten.
Oh, I also discovered something else! Did anyone else know that the
pool water on a cruise ship is salt water? I was not made aware of
that until the writer got a mouth full of it. Which was more than a
little amusing. Oh and know what else? I can't swim. I sink. Which
royally sucks... How am I suppose to rule the world when I can't even
float? That aside it was a rather good day.
Tomorrow we dock at Nassau Bahamas. Now that should be interesting.
The writer's brother and her father are going on some historical
pirate tour. The writer and her mother are going shopping at the
straw house. That would be the highlight of the writer's trip by the
way. Shopping... So that's it for now. I will update my loyal
minions tomorrow from the shores of Nassau.
The Traveling Karr
Karr's Snips: There's someone sleeping and snoring very loudly in the
library where the writer has chosen to blog. Here's a snip... If you
decide to go take a nap do it in your own dang room!
Cody's Tips: Any cruse ship has a general rule of thumb. If you
don't want to be left behind, be at the boat on time because the ship
is not going to wait on you. With that in mind, give yourself about
an hours leeway. You don't have to wait until the last minute. It
only stresses you. However, if something should happen and you do
find yourself in a bind make sure you have your passport and some
cash. That's pretty much all you need to make it home on your own.
Until next time folks! Rock on!
