Nassau Bahamas
Well what can I say about Nassau... It was hot, humid, and it smelled
like fish. It's a dirty city where the drivers are even crazier than
I am. How any of those people live through the morning drive is
amazing to me. However, they seem use to it. They say there are less
accidents there than there are in the U,S. and we have better traffic
laws. Go figure on that one. The water was a little rough last
night, bringing on the introduction of sea sickness... Much better
and much smoother now.
Tomorrow is going to be a day at sea which means yours truly will be
back on Thursday. So you only have a couple more days of the
traveling Karr taking over your regularly scheduled blog. Such a
pity...
I would like to take this time to comment on the staff of the Carnival
Cruise Lines. When I rule the world these people will be spared from
my wrath. I must say they are impressive. I normally detest the
writer... However, I do see where it would be hard to spend nine
months away from the people you care about. Not that I care about the
writer mind you. I am my own car.
This trip has been an interesting one that I have very much enjoyed.
On that note I don't believe I will be seeing any one of my loyal
minions for a very long time... The writer has informed me this is the
last cruise for a good long while. She is now saving for a cruise in
europe. Odd considering she holds a bit of a grudge against them.
(One European puts down America and she gets all bent out of shape.
Americans are arrogant. Get over it. Everyone knows that.) Anyway,
that being said she wants to see Italy, England, and Spain. So that's
the next cruise... In theory at least... More on all this and more
tomorrow.
The Traveling Karr
Karr's Snips: I've almost been run over 6 times in this country!
What's wrong with the driving skills of this country???
Cody's Tips: For once Karr's right. The driving skills of this
country are frightening. Therefore, be very, very careful when
crossing the road. The taxies out there will hit you...
Stay safe everybody! Loved this vacation but kinda looking forward to
a quiet night in my own bed!

Half Moon Cay
Still at sea. I must admit this sea air is... calming... This new
place is rather unique. The ship can not come to close to the island
because the water is not nearly deep enough. Therefore the ship is
anchored just off shore and a ferry boat is taken from the ship to the
island. For those of you wondering... Yes the writer burns and yes
the anchor dropping is annoyingly loud. The writer chose horseback
riding as her off shore trip. A rather interesting choice considering
she OWNS TWO OF THEM... Why would you go on vacation to ride a horse
when you have a horse at home? But oh no... She wanted to ride in
the ocean. Which admittedly is a once in a lifetime opportunity for
someone who lives somewhere that's predominately land locked without
going for a three and a half hour drive.
My own activities are coming along well. I attempted to get a little
bit of sun today up on deck. Did anyone else know a jet black sports
car couldn't tan? I didn't... My hood smarts a little from sun burn
but I am still the exact same color. Who knew that changing colors by
laying in the sun was only a human trait? Still though it was
relaxing. It's surprising just how relaxing laying under the warm sun
is.
Last night was form night which of course meant the writer actually
donned a skirt... Now THATs a once in a lifetime experience... I
have to admit I was never made aware that the writer actually did in
fact have legs... It was an experience that will not soon be forgotten.
Oh, I also discovered something else! Did anyone else know that the
pool water on a cruise ship is salt water? I was not made aware of
that until the writer got a mouth full of it. Which was more than a
little amusing. Oh and know what else? I can't swim. I sink. Which
royally sucks... How am I suppose to rule the world when I can't even
float? That aside it was a rather good day.
Tomorrow we dock at Nassau Bahamas. Now that should be interesting.
The writer's brother and her father are going on some historical
pirate tour. The writer and her mother are going shopping at the
straw house. That would be the highlight of the writer's trip by the
way. Shopping... So that's it for now. I will update my loyal
minions tomorrow from the shores of Nassau.
The Traveling Karr
Karr's Snips: There's someone sleeping and snoring very loudly in the
library where the writer has chosen to blog. Here's a snip... If you
decide to go take a nap do it in your own dang room!
Cody's Tips: Any cruse ship has a general rule of thumb. If you
don't want to be left behind, be at the boat on time because the ship
is not going to wait on you. With that in mind, give yourself about
an hours leeway. You don't have to wait until the last minute. It
only stresses you. However, if something should happen and you do
find yourself in a bind make sure you have your passport and some
cash. That's pretty much all you need to make it home on your own.
Until next time folks! Rock on!

It starts...
The traveling Karr speaking to you via e-mail from on board the
Fascination. For now I find it interesting this world I've set out to
conquer... So in total here's the trip thus far.
We left at approximately 0600. We've gotten plenty of stupid people's
awards while on this trip by the way... Anyway we set off, the first
leg of our trip was fairly uneventful. We stopped in Statesboro and
grabbed some breakfast at a Dunkin' Doughnuts... I have come to
believe that this Dunkin' Doughnuts may be on some level working with
Starbucks... This means that they are working together to conquer the
world themselves and therefore might be some unwanted competition...
I'll have to learn more... And if learning more involves staking out
their establishments and drinking their coffee... I'll just have to
make that sacrifice... Anyway, after we left Dunkin' Doughnuts we
didn't stop again until we reached Jacksonville where we killed some
time at a local Wal-Mart. Again uneventful but for the green swimsuit
the writer purchased there... She needs a fashion consultant... I
like green. Not that color green...
After leaving Wal-Mart we reached the cruise terminal where I was
CHECKED! I was placed in a suitcase and checked with the rest of the
writer's baggage! How humiliating! I will remember that act of...
disloyalty when I rule the world!
Anyway onboard the ship it was a few hours before I was reunited with
the writer... Once reunited we were forced to endure a ship safety
drill. Later you will see photos of me in my life preserver. I
demanded one my size but apparently that was to much to ask...
After the drill and some humiliating photos the writer went off to
take pictures around the boat and I was able to catch a rather long
nap. Then the humans went to dinner while I guarded the room. Though
that... Stewart... Insisted on coming in on MY watch for something
called a turn down service. He created a little animal out of a towel
and set it on the bed. I of course interrogated it since we were
going to be spending some time together. It was not forthcoming with
information...
Unfortunately, the stewart thought it would be cute to pose me with
said animal... Which the writer of course thought was adorable so she
of course took lots of pictures...
The next morning I was left to my own devises and plotting while the
writer went jogging up on sports deck. In a little while we will be
going to get a little sun up on the sun deck and play a round of golf
with the writer's father. So until next blog...
The Traveling Karr
Karr's Snips: We've spent more time on this cruise telling people to
get the hell out of the way and waiting for elevators. How do you
humans multiply this quickly???
Cody's Tips: Room service is your friend. If it's a free service
such as on a cruise, don't feel bad about ordering food up to the
room. It's fun, quiet, and rather restful as there is no one moving
around in your room unless you're sharing it with someone.
Greetings from the ship! Hope everyone is having a good day!

Embarkation (The Traveling Karr)

The traveling Karr....
